What does great marketing look like?

Surge has product-market fit & founder-led marketing. Now find yourself a marketer who can set principles to grow your brand and a strategy to influence the industry towards human intelligence for AGI.

Marketing Principles

  • Homepage copy is aspirational and inspiring “raise AGI with the richness of humanity.” Marketing helps you speak to that mission across content, social and comms. If you want people to care about the importance of AGI, and raise the ceiling for better, more brilliant frontier models, you have to give people the language to understand that vision in the first place.

  • Your competitors are data labeling companies, data annotating companies, body shops. But Surge AI is something fundamentally different. Marketing helps people understand that you are in a category of your own. (FWIW, Mercor is doing this well.)

  • “We bet on a principle: quality, no matter what.” This commitment to quality should extend to marketing. That means quality visuals, branding, copy across all content (blogs, social, PR).

Marketing Strategy

  • Raise the Ceiling (content focused on AGI, thought-leadership, industry trends)

Quality, No Matter What (content focused on product differentiation, expert network, research collaborations, technical break-throughs)

Richness of Humanity (content focused on poetry, art, unexpected applications of AI, emotionally resonant, creative, experimental)

  • Above all else, produce content that you’d be excited to share with your friends.

Have a marketing calendar for blog, social, stunts/ big bets, tag all activities according to three primary themes. Here’s a great template to follow.
